BROADWAY!

B is for BROADWAY!

and

T is for Triple Threat

I asked the girls if they new what a triple threat was and they didn't know.

A triple threat has to do three things really well

1. Sing
2. Dance
3. Act

Broadway is full of these amazingly talented people!

Let's meet one

This is Andrew Keenan-Bolger

He has a really fun blog I've been following for a few years and even cooler, he has the most ridiculously amazing youtube channel ever!  You can watch him and his adventures backstage on Broadway as well as on national tours.

So where does that leave us on our art day?

Sure all of these performers are triple threats but they still need to be put into a costume to become that character and for some characters that costume just may include a WIG!

I'll admit that today was rather crazy around here so we haven't finished them but
here is a fabulous tutorial if your feeling crafty.  Also, if you decide to go for the project I'd suggest using a thicker yarn.

I also gave the girls a summer goal.
They must pick a solo and learn to sing it with an accompaniment.

Estee has made a list
Broadway Baby
Big and Loud
Somewhere Out There

Coppelia on the other hand is stuck on one piece
Defying Gravity from Wicked.
I'm not sure she realizes how vocally challenging it is so we will see if I can persuade her into something a bit easier.

Here is a video of Estee's first practice on Big and Loud
