The girls have been asking to visit London for awhile now and it just so happened their Daddy needed to come here for work during their fall break so we decided to hop across the pond for a new exploring the arts adventure!
This happens to be my first trip here too and I'm feeling absolutely giddy with excitement to finally get to see this beautiful city. We have some fun activities planed and some ideas that are not set in stone so for anybody who lives here or been here I'd love to hear your suggestions.
Fortunately the 8 hour plane ride was super easy!
But by noon we were out!
We eventually rolled out of bed and to take a stroll in Kensington Garden. We talked about J.M. Barrie who created the beloved stories of Peter Pan, this is definitely a park to let your imagination run wild.
We went into the Princess Diana Memorial Park which is by far the must amazing park I have ever seen. We felt like we were walking right into Neverland. The girls of course made quick friends with a little french girl as they included her into their very authentic Peter Pan and pirate play. Coppélia informed me that pretend play is the best way to practice her acting skills.
She came across these teepee's and burst into "Ugg-a-Wugg" from Peter Pan the musical.
Eventually they closed this section of the park for the day and so we continued on our merry way to find our first palace.
Here we are at Kensington Palace, we can't wait to come back for one of the exhibits!

I've been to London. I LOVE it! The Tate Modern can be really interesting as is the National Portrait Gallery. But, of course, I'm much more interested in the literary history of London and finding places like Virginia Woolf's house and Charles Dickens' home and the British Library (which I haven't seen--argh!). Make sure to eat Indian food while you're there. As my friend says, it's the best place in the world for Indian food: it's made by real Indians but it has a health code. ;) If you've been to Kensington Palace then you've probably been to Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, which I would always recommend. It's so peaceful. London is such a great town.
